Our popular garden paving ranges

Natural Indian sandstone paving continues to be a hugely popular choice with our customers. Its stunning good looks are available in both premium and standard options. The Marshalls Fairstone paving range is very popular - high quality, carefully graded stone slabs selected for colour and technical consistency, and ethically sourced from well-run quarries in India.

Classic Fairstone Slate Natural Garden Paving slab is a great economic alternative to British slate paving for patios and paths. Our Fairstone slate slabs come in a bold Midnight Blue that looks superb in many garden settings.

Not looking for natural stone? Our Heritage and Saxon garden paving slabs range offer versatile concrete paving slabs for homes wanting cost-effective, quality patios and paved areas. Don't forget that block paving also makes brilliant, robust paved surfaces, allowing you to link driveway, patio and paths with one design look.

What's new in paving design?

There have been some great new additions to the Marshalls range.   We are particularly excited about Marshalls SYMPHONY Vitrified Garden Paving - it's on trend vitrified paving - these are tough, slip-resistant manufactured slabs and they come in an astonishing range of colours!

We also have an exciting new generation of paving, called Stonemarket NEXTpave. The NEXTpave range has a clever base design which makes it easy to lay and to achieve uniform joints.  Interested?  Then take a look at their Millstone NEXTpave paving or Yorkstone NEXTpave paving, which look just like freshly quarried English stone. These paving stones come with coordinating edgings, circles and stepping stones too.

We’re confident that you’ll find the right product for your garden project on our site, but you can always ask an expert for advice if you are unsure of your paving requirements by simply calling 01529 308839 or using our convenient web chat facility.

Traditional paving for a perfect country cottage garden

Perfect patio slabs for a traditional country garden look

How best to create a real period and cottage garden feel, wherever your garden?  Like a key piece of furniture in a room, or accent colour on a wall, choosing traditional paving slabs, walling and edging will create the foundations of a delightful cottage garden around which you can plant to your heart’s content.

Country cottage paving on a budget

From £93.06 Per Pack
From £23.50 Per m2

Choose slabs with a riven surface.  These have a hand-split look where the layers of stone have peeled away under pressure.  They give a natural authentic texture to your patio. Stonemarket Bourton Riven Garden Paving is a great versatile budget paving.  Its four warm colours: Weathered Autumn, Misty Grey, Savannah Weathered and Buff will all create a rustic feel.

There are a couple of really appealing UK manufactured slab options from Marshalls, who understand many homeowners want affordable quality cottage garden landscaping.  Marshalls Firedstone Textured Garden Paving is very popular with our customers.  These riven concrete slabs have been created using moulds from original stones hand cut by masons.  Marshalls Heritage Garden Paving Heritage slabs are also cast from moulds created from genuine split stone flags for that special traditional finish.  The colours - Yorkstone, Old Yorkstone, Calder Brown, and Weathered Yorkstone, will all give you that gorgeous weathered sandstone look we love so much.  Heritage also comes in individual stepping stones for you to place through a border or across a lawn area.

Natural stone country garden paving

£588.43 Per Pack
£44.80 Per m2

Our go-to range must be Stonemarket’s Vintage Stone. Vintage are ethically sourced natural stone slabs, walling and setts, which have been given the weathered, smoother surface you’ll usually find in reclaimed flagstones. Vintage Stone paving and setts are a beautiful creamy grey in colour which is unique to old worn limestone.  They’ll blend into your country garden landscape like a dream. The setts make particularly authentic country paths and you can mix sizes and colours for an informal look. There’s even a decorative radius feature - it’s a beautiful compass point with brass inlays that looks amazing set in a patio or entrance area.

Great cottage garden landscaping ideas

Love the aged timber look in your garden?  The soft worn textures and hues of wood blend beautifully with traditional shrub roses, and a summer show of lavender. Clever Stonemarket produce Timberstone paving - decking, stepping stones and sleepers which are almost indistinguishable from genuine aged timber.  You get all the rustic informality of a country garden but none of the worry of maintenance that comes with timber installations.  Choose from Coppice Brown, which is a rich dark brown, or Driftwood, a mottled dark grey, reminiscent of the colour of the bark of oak or ash. Combine with cobbles and gravels for a rich textured environment.

Small details can make a difference in garden design.  So why not edge a lawn, path or patio with Marshalls Victorian Rope Top Garden edging to add an attractive, traditional border?  This lawn edging comes in a strong red or black, reflecting nineteenth century style and tastes.

Finally, for inspiration we really enjoyed  a visit to House and Garden’s superb image collection of 50 Amazing English Gardens - take a peek!  The appeal of a country garden never seems to fade. It’s a garden style that delivers real pleasure to home owners everywhere.  Think traditional wood and stone landscaping with soft, weathered finishes, pathways meandering through borders packed with shrubs and flowers.  Pergolas and arches leading to hideaway patios and delightful water features.  A rich palette of texture created by stepping stones, setts and cobbles where small plants can self seed.
