How to put in a fence post spike?
1. Position the spike in place where you'd like it go and install a drive in tool or timber fence post off cut.

2. A few taps at a time, hammer in to the ground with a sledge hammer. Carefully checking as you go the spike is vertical with a spirit level.
Once half the spike is in the ground it will be difficult to reposition or remove without digging up your handywork.

3. Once the spike is installed in the ground, you can replace the drive in tool or offcut with your fence post, and secure it to the spike.
